Benji followed Willa through the woods keeping his ears and nose alert for any signs of danger. They headed back to a clearing and from there to a fairly large hole in the ground. He caught a scent that reminded him of the air after lightning struck, and guessed that it belonged to the dragon. Fresh tracks clearly lead to the hole in the ground and when Willa asked if he’d caught the scent he nodded. “Someone from that clearing definitely fell down this hole, probably Paon.” He agreed. Benji laid down on the ground and starred down, he couldn’t see the bottom but he could hear faint voices from below. He couldn’t make out what they were saying but it didn’t sound like there were many of them. “Sounds like there are only a few people down there, at least that I can hear.” He said standing back. “Could be you friend is still down there, the scent’s still strong. You wanna check it out or I could go alone and check it out or we could holler at ‘em and see what happens.” He suggested. Paon could be trouble and while he didn’t know the guy himself if he was a friend of Willa’s then Benji trusted this dragon must be good people. He didn’t want to leave a fellow supernatural stuck at the bottom of some hole even if going down there blind probably wasn’t the smartest plan. He could probably climb down the side with his claws if he went full werewolf, at least he’d be able to see what he was getting into before hitting the bottom in case it was some kind of trap. Of course there was always the chance that the side wasn’t as sturdy as it looked and he could end up falling anyway. -------------------------------- Charlie hoped he hadn’t offended the Dr. McConnel with his earlier statement. “I didn’t mean to imply that this job hindered me at all, sir. I wouldn’t be anywhere without this job, and I appreciate every opportunity I’ve had here. I just meant I wouldn’t want to accept such an important position if I couldn’t be properly committed. I’d love a tour though, I’m sure whatever high tech equipment you have at the top levels will do a lot to convince me.” Charlie said, relaxing a bit the more he talked to Eric, the head scientists didn’t seem nearly as scary as some of the others made him out to be. Maybe the information they had at the higher levels would prove that his earlier assessment of what went on here was wrong. He was a man of science after all, shouldn’t he keep an open mind, try and get all the information he could before decided? You’re being seduced by the dark side. His inner voice told him, and Charlie wished he could turn his conscience off every now and then. A lot of people in the labs were freaked out by Mr. Right and Charlie’s curiosity was dying to know what he was all about.
