The kid wasn't terribly dressed, for his class, but that didn't change the man's opinion of him. Plus, he needed to iron his damn shirt, that was an incredible eye sore. The man quietly observed the idiot grin swiftly turn into pure confusion as if the sight of his strong presence wasn't expected. Expect the unexpected, kid. His light green orbs scanned the boy like a trespasser, obviously giving off a 'You're not welcomed here' aura. There was a sick pleasure the man had from seeing this boy's racing thoughts written all over his face. As Jackson began to ramble on, the Snake of a man allowed his lips to curve ever so slightly. The fact that the man child was spilling out all this information to a complete stranger was quite laughable, really. This display only gave the taller, stronger, better in every way man more confidence in himself, quite glad he wasn't as pathetic as the simpleton that stood before him. His brow perked in intrigue when Jackson mentioned Camp Liberty. His fiance had brought up that place many times before saying it was one of the best times in her life. Too bad her soon-to-be-husband replaced those memories with better ones. Ash, a woman who guarded her heart from everyone, dropped it for him and he took pride in that achievement. She belonged to him and this sorry excuse of a man was still in love with her - how sad. How sad that Jackson lost his chance many years ago. Reminiscing on his college days, the wealthy man remembered oh-too-well how much his darling fiance thought back on her time at camp. Along with her stresses because of her family - her mother's control and her father's indifference - she struggled with letting go of her past. In a sense, she wished to go back in time and rewrite her story. The apple of his eye spent her days waiting for something to happen, for someone to appear, battling her regret but then, to her rescue, came Lucas Henderson. He helped her get over her worries and her doubts. Whatever was on her mind, Lucas helped wash away. Now with the presence of her past right in front of him, he had an inkling of an idea that part of her regrets had everything to do with this boy, who traveled just to come find her. Perhaps, at first, her reasons of interacting with Lucas were selfish, but he didn't mind. He knew how people of their status were, himself included, but he also knew that he could change her thoughts and make a woman of strength weak for him. The moment he laid eyes on Aisling, he knew: this woman was wife material. Someone who would make him look good as he continued to climb the ladder and make his father proud. A woman that could take care of the petty things while strutting her sexy self in front of his competitors. A woman that would help him continue his family line. Overall, he needed to marry Ash and he knew, she needed someone like him. Someone who had his shit together and some. This poor guy was in love with a woman that would never be his. Pitiful, really. Leaning against his front door, attentively listening to the kid of his fiance's past, Lucas' smirk never faded away. He would wait to speak, even when things got silent. The kid seemed a bit scattered brain, so the charming man assumed there was more words to come. To even fathom the idea that his Ash even had a kid like Jackson in her life was beyond him - but, he could enjoy this moment while it lasted. There were many ways Lucas could go about this situation, he chose the 'nice' route. Save the kid from heartbreak, for now. Plus, it wasn't in his place to tell him that Ash was happily taken. It would sting more coming from her. Jackson brought up a infirmary incident that Ash failed to tell him. This did not please him at all, but Lucas would act like he wasn't bothered by the fact that she didn't tell him this little something. Lucas could believe that she 'forgot' about it but Ash wasn't the type of person to forget about moments like those, especially if it meant something to her in any way, shape, or form. He was curious how deep down the rabbit hole Ash got herself emotionally involved with this guy, but not enough to inquire. That wasn't something he would brood on for too long. There was an obvious indifference in his woman's heart about Jackson that made her feel like what she shared with this past lover was no longer relevant to her life. Lucas had her on his side and this kid didn't. He knew he had the winning hand because Aisling Hawthrone was his. Lightly pushing his body off the door and assuredly strolling toward the smaller man but stopping at the top of his steps, seeing how the boy was already walking away (not one to chase after people), Lucas glued his glare to the back of Jackson's head. Shrugging nonchalantly, he lied, "Sorry to burst your bubble man but this 'Ash' that you speak of isn't here. I do wish the best of luck to you. I hope you find her." His lie wasn't entirely untrue. Aisling was no longer the Ash he knew five years ago. She was a woman who was pursuing her dreams, who had a life any person would wish they could achieve, and a man that any woman wanted. She had it made and this kid had no idea how comfortable and satisfied she was with the life she built for herself. After Jackson gave a quick response, Lucas pleasantly waved goodbye to him, watching him enter the Ford Fusion. It immediately began backing up preparing to leave. As if the timing couldn't be anymore perfect... A white, 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class pulled up and two honks were heard. Sadistic pleasure filled the man's very core. In less than a minute, Ash came running out with her gorgeous, red dress on, a bit frazzled and not paying too much attention to her surroundings, "Okay! I'm off. Have a safe trip and call me tonight if you can, okay?" She embraced her fiance and planted a deep kiss on his face. Lucas Henderson was reveling at Ash's display of affection. What better way to show that she was taken than her being doe eyed for him, right? "I'll see what I can do. I know I'll be tired, since I didn't get much sleep. Either way, you're going to be late. Go, go." His stare softened when he looked into her alluring, chocolate orbs. Brushing off a strand of hair from her face, he blissfully grinned, "I love that you're mine." "And I love that I'm your's!" Two more honks were heard that made Ash jump, "Oh man, Em is gonna kill me. Okay, I'm off!" "Good luck, Ash!" As she scurried away, not really acknowledging the red car, she hurriedly went to the Mercedes-Benz. She even passed the window that Jackson would most likely be sitting at. As soon as Aisling Hawthorne came, she was gone. The car raced off and to the bar it went. A devious look was on Lucas' face as he stared at the red car. He didn't know if Jackson was looking at him but he gave that general direction a wink and went inside feeling accomplished with how this morning event turned out.
