Ally swallowed hard. Why are you making me do this? she asked in her head, anguished. "I didn't make it through to the finals. Some guy named Jackie Chun beat me," she explained, then added slyly, trying to not let the younger ones hear, "He really reminded me of you, Master." Then she looked at the others and to Roshi, now speaking at a normal volume, "But he was a great competitor! Next time I fight Chun, things will end differently, that's a promise." Akita wondered why Roshi seemed to say his words so harshly, but then remembered that a rivalry was at stake. It was then that she promised herself that if she met one of the Crane students in battle, she would give everything she had to protect Master Roshi's reputation! Then she heard a stomach growl. "Wow Kiro, was that your stomach?" Before the young boy got a chance to answer, Ally ruffled his hair and said to Roshi, "Master Roshi, these two- three counting Shaz-" she didn't know the boy's real name, "have really worked hard in their fights. I think they deserve a victory lunch in celebration."
