I'm still reading the OP, but for forums you may want to try [url=http://jcink.com/index.php]JCink[/url], or [url=http://icyboards.com]Icyboards[/url] as they allow you more stylistic freedom, and there are more resource forums to help you out with those two in particular. I can link you to those as well if you really want to launch this on your own forum. :)
