He had never been one to feel powerless, yet in this instance, that is exactly how he felt. He wanted to do so much more, but he knew that in this case, he was best serving the team by staying out of the fray. But he watched. He watched as the team tried to pinpoint which of the Arachnes was the real one. He watched as Vigilante fired at one of the spider women trying to suss out which one was which, and though he seemed satisfied that he had discovered the imposter, the rest of the team was less sure, and were vocal about it. Come on guys, keep it together. Icon thought to himself, hoping that the rest of the team would soon take down Effigy, clearing the way for him to return to the action, and then end the threat of Dr. Diplodoc and Pax Metahuman once and for all. “Icon, be ready to fly back. I might have a job for you.” Chris Arthur’s voice came through the earpiece that the armored hero had given to the members of the different teams before they descended on West Virginia. “Right.” Icon said as he rocketed away from West Virginia toward Lost Haven, hoping as he went that Arthur knew what he was doing. *** The light was harsh as she opened her eyes, so much so that she was forced to blink several times in order to give her eyes a chance to adjust. Her ears rang as she tried to gather her wits, and she ached all over. The Black Widow had given her a beating, however she was able to take care of the arachnid villain, that much she was sure of. But what Radiance wasn’t exactly sure of, was where she was now. The last thing she remembered was checking to make sure that she hadn’t killed Black Widow, and then everything went dark. It took her several moments, but she finally realized where she was. Much to her relief, she wasn’t in some dungeon in Dr. Diplodoc’s lair, in fact, it was quite the opposite. She sat up slowly, the pain that coursed through nearly every inch of her body did it’s best to keep her down, yet she gritted her teeth and got back to her feet. And for the first time, she realized that she wasn’t alone. She saw Chris Arthur standing behind a computer console directing the assault against Dr. Diplodoc’s forces, and she also saw the White Witch, also sprawled out on the floor. She took a step towards Arthur and a sharp pain in her ribs nearly brought her to her knees, but she did her best to ignore the pain and approached Arthur. “How did I get here, and how do I get back?” She said, determined to rejoin her teammates in West Virginia. “We have a job to finish, and I’m not sitting this thing out.”
