And without trying to sound insulting I don't think a degree in psychology was the best course of action from a market standpoint.
In all honesty, I think its quite short-sighted to do any non-STEM subject in university AND expect a good job afterwards. I'm planning on doing History and a language in university not for the job prospects but because I'd rather spend my early 20's farting around Europe, doing something I find interesting than studying a subject I detest just for a decent job afterwards (that'd I'd be unlikely to get in Ireland regardless). I'm not disparaging graphic design or psychology, they can be good stepping stones to get into good fields if you know the right people. Any form of degree looks better on a CV than a "I flunked out of Maths in University because I was shit at it." By the time we're all dead and gone, I reckon most of the western world will have lower working hours, higher wages and legal retirement ages dropping into the 50's, so it all really doesn't matter in the long run.
