Thank you guys!! Luckily I have some understanding of this as I worked two years at a historical farming museum, so I actually had to wear the clothes and deal with the boredom!  Unlike my character I've never smoked or killed a man... But I should be able to roleplay it well!  I'm also proud to say I'm descended from six Union soldiers that I know of.
