I don't see how Oner was talking down to them. He was just trying to give them some advice. Maybe him telling Satoko that by criticizing Ascot's power was criticizing her own may have been down talking, but at the same time it wasn't. It was just him making a statement. 

Plus if you really think about it, a power that lets you control others is taking all of the power from someone else's body. In a sense you are taking their body's power of the freedom of movement and using that to move them. While it may not be that in a literal sense, being able to control someone's body is pretty much what that is and that was the point that Oner was making. 

Of course, Oner doesn't view it as down talking but giving advice. He would still apologize if his words offended them, as he meant no offense, but knows that people have different views on things. So while he could understand how his words could be seen as talking down, he knows that they were not.

Its all about what one means after all.
