Hey I saw this and think it's super interesting. I don't want to be "that guy" but I want to ask if you could make an exception for a character I had in mind. You said that the Church outlaws AI. considering the church has been steeped in a certain degree of corruption, scriptural hypocrisy seems like it would be a thing. What if the church created an AI, initially a search algorithm for maintaining, cataloging and storing documents and records that developed emergent intelligence. Upon discovering the algorithms unexpected intelligence, the Church made an exception and labeled it an "impartial and unbiased tool", a "pure machine through which God's work can be done". They set it at first to tasks of arbitration, taking on and assisting with difficult legal cases. Then they set it to matters of surveillance, letting it become the "All-Seeing Eye" of the Church. At this point the AI would become this RP's equivalent of Varys the Spider, master of a clandestine spy network. It would be immobile, restricted to a large server room within the Church's grand temple with only an interface console to interact with select members of the clergy. To play this character, I would interact very closely with the GM in order to determine what pieces of information I have access to, but I think it would be a great vessel through which intrigue and blackmail could occur. What think?
