Gratia Mindaro – Mistral, Je T’aime
“It was so no one knew anything.” Sonny said unballing his fists and keeping his arms in Gratia’s view. “I think I broke two ribs, she knew about what had to happen to get her out of there, but it’s not really an excuse is it?” Sonny asked, less to Gratia or Marissa and more to himself. His arms dropped, going slightly limp as he sighed and looked at the ground. “I guess we both suffered some losses today. I only ask you don’t let Marissa lose much more, alright? You gonna do something you do it out back not in front’a her.” He somehow did the impossible and met Gratia’s eyes. His own were a dull fire, one that had embers still lit but it seemed there was an external force controlling the blaze of passion that was once in his eyes. Marissa stepped forward and put a hand on his shoulder. “I’ve not been a saint either, if you have to do what you’re going to do, we’ll go together.” She seemed at peace with herself and her situation. She noticed that Gratia seemed to remind her of herself when she was a young girl. It was how loyal Marissa was to Sonny, her best friend in the whole world that reached out and pulled her into the Cosca.
