[@aeuternus] I'd say either China (for authenticity) or America (for familiarity and relative ease of understanding American culture and such). 

Faceclaims, well, it depends on what you want. However I think that if we start mixing it too much it'd be weird (i.e. we need to have a uniform set of rules on faceclaims.) If you get 4 people with a real photo and 8 with anime faceclaims, it'll be weird.
