Name: Arthur Pendragon Occupation: Crassus' Steward Time/Date: Day One, Evening Location: Banquet Hall/Library Tagging: Leo, Merlin The dinner was going how most events had gone since Arthur had officially became the Lord's steward. He stood by Lord Crassus' side, making sure his cup never got too empty. Arthur was surprised though when Emperor Caesar wished to purchase him for himself, and more surprised when his own Lord refused. What was it about him that made the two powerful men want him as their stewards? Perhaps they could see he was meant for greatness and each wanted him for their own ends. The night became more interesting as the two men brought out fighters to win the right of ownership over Arthur. If he were allowed to admit it he would tell them he was honoured. Instead he just kept silent and made sure his Lord's cup didn't empty. The boy he knew as Leo gave him a strange look as he passed, and he also looked at the food. Some of the other slaves didn't like Arthur since they thought he was treated better because of his position. Maybe in some senses, but if Crassus ever ordered a beating for Arthur he could see the pleasure in the Overseers eyes when they got the chance to beat Crassus' special slave. Arthur made sure not to do anything that would warrant a beating very often. As the boys fought Arthur couldn't help but think if this is what all powerful people did, just have others fight their battles for them. Arthur didn't like the thought of that, he'd much rather fight his own battles. In reality he'd rather not fight at all, but if it came down to it he'd want to fight rather than stand behind someone else. In the end Leo had lost, and Emperor Caesar told Arthur to come over and fill his cup. Arthur hesitated and looked to his Lord, who held up his arm to keep Arthur where he was. He accused Caesar of cheating, and looking at it Achilles was totally unscathed from the fight. Another competition was set up and Arthur was worried for Leo's fate before Sam Adams had offered to buy him. Lord Adams seemed a good man, Arthur wouldn't mind being his slave, he seemed like the kind of man who would treat his slaves with more respect. Leo was taken away to be cleaned up and the rest of the dinner went by as Arthur would expect, political things he knew he could do nothing about, so why bother worrying about it. One interesting thing was Lord Adams dropped his handkerchief in front of Arthur, he picked it up and was about to offer it back but then he noticed there was something written on it, something Arthur could read no less. He hid the handkerchief away on his person for later. Once the dinner was over Arthur was dismissed as Lord Crassus retired to bed for the night. Arthur ran as fast as he could to the library, where he figured Merlin would be at this time. "MERLIN?!" He began shouting her name as soon as he was in the library, he knew no one else should be in here at this time. All the important people from the banquet had left from what Arthur saw, and he couldn't wait to tell Merlin what happened and about the secret note he got. "Merlin! Where are you?"
