The man groans at mention of Clay being downstairs. 
He either failed to notice the flirtatious undertone of the waiters words or simply chose not to acknowledge them. His focus clearly elsewhere.
The man brings his fingers to his temple where he tries to massage his tension away.
He pauses from his worries to look at the girl properly.

He then goes back to madly flicking through his notebook.
