Personality: Stubborn, craves adventure and freedom, lacks patience, fiercely loyal and protective, understanding of the grey areas of morality, individualistic centric view of the universe and its ways.

History: Growing up on the planet of Samlingssted, Astrid never knew her mother. As was common with the kumakatok females, her mother was a woman. She never knew for certain whether her mother was human or some other race, with her father and uncle quickly vanishing when she was small. They had left to fight in a war -- a peculiar station for a kumakatok -- and since Astrid was too small to understand, she remained in an orphanage. Growing up in the hub of a thriving galatic empire, Astrid was exposed to many different customs, picking up a variety of languages. 

At the age of 12, a stranger came to adopt her from the orphanage. Already having trouble keeping her heritage a secret, she gladly took any chance of getting out of the orphanage. Her new family already knew about her race -- about her powers -- and encouraged her to turn into her true form whenever she pleased. In exchange for a roof over her head, she would run errands for them. They groomed her into an agent of fear for the mob, an organization thriving on the trafficking of people and illicit purchases throughout the galaxy. 

At the age of 16, they informed Astrid that she was old enough to stand on her own. It was customary on Samlingssted for young people to move out at 16, beginning to train for the next phase of their life. At 19, they would be considered legal adults. And Astrid, rather than training to become an apprentice or continuing with her studies, fell back in with the mob. They paid her, and she was able to stay with the only family she ever had. [/hider]
