Superhumans. A blanket term used to describe those who possess powers greater than those of “normal” humans. This term extends to those among the various non-human races or even those who possess objects of great power. The existence of superhumans has been common knowledge since the 40’s, though legends of superhuman exploits had existed for thousands of years before then. While there are many among the superhuman populace that simply wish to live quietly, many others decide to use their powers to defend the innocent. On the flipside, of course, there are other superhumans that look to use their powers for their own personal gain, often to the detriment of others. As such, public opinion of superhumans is split. While there are many who look upon the superhuman community with adoration, often forming fanclubs for popular superheroes or other open superhumans, there are many who see the existence of superhumans as nothing but destructive, an opinion backed up by the property damage that superhuman battles can cause.

The setting of the story is [i]Platinum City[/i]. Located on an artificial island in the Pacific, named Avalon, the city stands as a symbol of superhumans’ mark on the world. While most of the population is still made up of normal humans, Platinum City is seen by many as the premier place to break out as a superhero. Both the island and the city itself were built through a joint effort between a group of heroes led by the legendary “Earthshaper Terrafirma” and the backing of various interest groups. As such, the island is thought to be the “superhuman homeland” and, in many ways, the first defense against threats that come to the Earth itself.[/center]

[i]Fwoo[/i]. Well, that’s the basic setting info (with more to come in the actual OOC section, of course). In case it wasn’t obvious, this is going to lead into a superhero RP of sorts, spinning out of a 1x1 I’ve been playing and feeding my fetish for shared universes. The idea was inspired by a whole helluva lot of things. Western superhero comics, tokusatsu, all sorts of anime/manga centered around superheroes (OPM, Tiger & Bunny, ConRevo, etc.), and even just zany, large cast work like Durarara or Gintama. While I plan for there to be arcs to tie everything together, ultimately this is more of a “Slice of Life Superhero Action-Comedy” deal than a super-serious dealio most of the time. Be prepared for when/if things [i]do[/i] get dark, though. As far as skill level and all of that mess goes, I don’t ask for much, but I like to see at least mid-high casual. Try to squeeze out a few paragraphs at the least! 

This completes my maiden voyage into Guild intchecks~! Just trying to get a rough idea who/how many I might have to work with. Also, feel free to ask questions!
