Evolution. The theory itself is simple. Over time, offspring of a species will incur seemingly random mutations, and those with beneficial mutations will, over time, replace the old species. Humanity has ‘sped up’ their evolution with the advent of technology. When we made clothing, we lost our hair. When we prepared our food, we didn’t need sharp teeth. Over time, humanity was supported entirely by technology. What if it were different? - Deep in an underground complex, scientists were at work creating an organism. The first of its kind, literally. Though they were just amoebas, they possessed one trait that set them apart from almost any other creature on Earth. When they consumed another organism, they would steal their traits. These amoeba were named “perfections.” The Perfections progressed as expected. The scientists would introduce new organisms to their environment, and they would consume them. As the Perfections grew in size, they were fed larger creatures, like insects, rodents, reptiles, the list went on. Each Perfection took on different shapes as they consumed different organisms. Some dwelled close to the floor of their containment, others would fly and hover around the ceiling lights. Then they were fed humans. Upon doing this, the scientists found that the Perfections took on forms almost identical to the people they ate. They began to speak. They learned about the human psyche. They convinced their captors to release them. They escaped the facility, covered in blood. They fled into society. - PERFECTION BIOLOGY: Perfections are odd creatures. When they consume an organism, they temporarily take on the traits of that which they consume. They can even ‘pick out’ the traits they want at will, such as only taking on wings when consuming a bird, or only venom glands when consuming a snake. They all are able to morph and shape their bodies at will, due to their amoeboid form constantly consuming the bacteria in the air and earth around them through their porous ‘skin.’ This power is only temporary, however. When using a trait, it will gradually “burn out” of their biology over time. For example, a Perfection can only keep wings if they were to continuously consume birds or other winged animals. How long a trait is kept in a Perfection’s system depends on how much they use it. When consuming humans, Perfections have instant access to advanced thought, language, and cognition, but only as much as the person they consumed had. If a Perfection consumed a baby, they would have as much intelligence as a baby, as well as any other animals they had consumed. Once a Perfection has consumed multiple humans, they are able to customize certain parts of their appearance, such as hair or eye color, skin tone, etc. Perfections aren’t able to instantly adopt human mannerisms. They have a hard time faking emotions, and are usually confused at actions that are entirely illogical at first, until they have experienced or studied human society for a long time. - PERFECTION WEAKNESSES: Due to having a “liquid body,” Perfections are not usually harmed by projectile weapons. Bullets will have little effect beyond stunning them. Blunt objects have nearly no effect on them, cutting off parts of them will simply cause them to return to the main body, and even crushing them will have little effect beyond eliminating their disguise. What is effective on them are weapons that affect the entire body. Fire is an effective tool, causing the surface cells of a Perfection to react irrationally and making them unable to take complex forms. Electrocution works as well, stunning and damaging a Perfection from the inside out. Acid is an excellent weapon, although difficult to use. Poison can work, if in large doses. If detected, Perfections are able to detect poison in their body and contain it. The same works for biological and chemical weapons. Alcohol causes a similar reaction to fire. --- The RP itself focuses on the player (That is you) being a Perfection. You begin with a fairly basic level of intelligence, and some traits you acquired from your time in the lab. After you and some other escapees run from the lab and consume a couple homeless people in the woods, you have to decide where your fate will go from there. Will you try to integrate into human society? Will you hunt down fellow Perfections, trying to consume them to become the ultimate being? Will you try to find you and your kind's purpose, or will you simply let your survival instinct rule over you? --- CHARACTER SHEET: Chosen Name: (Perfections will chose a name in the beginning of the RP, so only post it here if you really want) Human Appearance: (Picture preferred, but written description works as well. If you choose to use both, that's great!) Preferred Traits: (These are strictly physical. Your personality will develop over the roleplay, if you choose to have emotions at all.) (Examples include claws or blades, wings, venom/poison, etc. This will decide your diet.) Outlook on Humans: (Are they just food? Should we try to live with them? Etc. Can be fleshed out/changed through course of Roleplay.) Extra: (Anything else you consider important) HERE'S MINE!:
Chosen Name: Michelle Human Appearance: However, this form is not constant, as is with all Perfections. Preferred Traits: Insect-like traits, such as mandibles, stingers, and venom. She tends to use a combination of mammalian and insectoid mouths when feeding. Outlook on Humans: Cautious curiosity. They are food first and experiments second. Extra: The first human Michelle consumed was a victim of abuse, and tends to be very cautious of hostile figures as a result, although she cannot identify why.
--- Go ahead and create your characters! I'll be happy to add in more people after the RP starts, but I'd like to have 4-5 to start with. CHARACTER LIST: 1. Michelle|scifidude47 2.
