[@boomlover] I would say that the others do have a point, tone down the alcoholism. Have him still serving in the military prior to his enlistment in Genesis Protocol. The whole doesn't follow command very well is alright, because from what I can tell he hasn't really served under anyone since his uncle died. A way to keep this would be for him to have his own (small) command. I mean they're not going to have a pilot who may fly them into an asteroid, the command crew and the heads of various departments are going to be the most heavily scrutinized people on the planet.
