There's more to it, you know? More to it than looking cool, than fighting crime - being a badass isn't what it's all made up to be. Things get sticky real fast. Plans fall through. People get hurt. Innocents get thrown into the fire. Most of all? People die. It's a solid fact, these days. Someone's gonna die and who's to blame? Well, the heroes, of course. And some people just aren't cut out for it. Being a mentally unstable soldier in a rag-tag group in all out war is far from glamorous. Unfortunately, that's what heroing is - it's war. Constant war. The only difference being the costumes, the flashy powers, the bigger than life guns. And that's not even half of it. These days, a world ending scenario doesn't cut it. They come a dime a dozen. That doesn't mean it isn't hell. It just means there's always something bigger around the corner and who's got to fight it? The heroes. If they die? Not many people care, especially when they can turn around and there's another one. That sucks. But it's the truth of it. So, if they don't care, well, we have to. It's left to us to bury our brothers and sisters - what's left of them. Then, we have to get up and fight again. Some of us have qualms with that; others are happy for the work they're given. Recognition, however, went out the window a long time ago. Any publicity we get is scandal, gossip, our private lives thrown by the wayside for the seagulls to eat up. What we have are each other and this universe full of beautiful things and beautiful people - even if they don't give a damn. And if anyone asks, well, like Peter Quill just loves to fucking say every goddamn day another Thanos comes into the picture: "I'm one of the idiots who lives in it!"

[sup]
What You Need to Know!
[/sup]
S.H.I.E.L.D Academy sets itself in a weird Marvel AU, right between Avenger's Academy and the MCU. Liberties will be taken, of course, to incorporate various characters and bend canon around. Overall, this is an interpretation of a Marvel Universe that centers itself around a large academy built by a number of great minds, but mostly Tony Stark. The focus of the RP will be on a group of students, characters that are intended to be a part of the team. Essentially, the plot will remain simple: get through the school year in one piece. However, it will most definitely be complicated by a number of various plot points and character arcs that revolve around these students. They'll most likely come in the form of an event and the first one will kick off once everyone's settled and comfortable with their intros and characters. Everything from then on, well, that's up to us to figure out. The goal here is to engage in each other and the plot, let everyone provide their input, their ideas, their suggestions, and slowly make this RP less my endeavor and more ours. My job here is to allow an area where creativity can come to life. I'll have my input and I'll regulate everything that I am able, but, for the most part, this is definitely going to be a collaborative project. That doesn't mean that I won't have a lot of surprises in store for you lot. It just means, I'd love it if you had surprises in store for everyone else, too. You give me your ideas and I'll try my best to allow you a platform to play them out. Of course, there's always going to be guidelines and rules that must be followed and I'll do my best to highlight all the important bits. With that said, welcome! If you're interested in joining, I'd love to have you. If anyone has any questions or concerns before the OOC gets put up, throw them at me. I'm more than happy to answer them all. Of course, this is only an interest check, so I don't intend to divulge everything - most of your questions will likely be answered in the OOC. But, don't let that stop you from asking questions, especially if they're on anything that's unclear or vague. If you're confused, just ask me to elaborate!
