"That's the one, and yeah, football too, I was on the high school team, could've probably gone pro if I hadn't signed up." He commented, scratching at his chin as she went on to talk about movies. "I'll find you some American ones to watch, there's some good ones, a few I think you'd like." He concluded with a nod, running a few ideas through his head as she continued her questions. He nodded as she asked about ice cream, keeping the smile on his face until her next comment, sighing somewhat as he sat there, listening intently. Reaching up, he gave her a gentle pat on the shoulder before speaking softly. "You're a good soldier, Tara, but you can serve your homeland better by fighting for it, not dying for it." He smiled reassuringly before deciding to accentuate his point. "There was an American general in the Second World War who used to say - 'No bastard ever won a war by going out and dying for his country. He won it by making some other dumb bastard die for his country.' - You'll stick it through, i'm sure of it." Her last question made him pause, thinking for a moment or two of how to explain it before shrugging. "It's sort of a tradition in my family, my father was special forces as well, I could've served any way I wanted, navy, air force, but I wanted to fight, and fight with the best, so... Here I am." He shrugged as he watched her, he could have asked the same question, but he was fairly sure he knew the answer.
