Back in the times of Yonder and Lore the world of Nova was filled with users of magic. Everyone was born with a black 'tattoo' like birthmark that gave them their magic abilities. For a time, the world blossomed and the world of Nova seemed like a happy place. The Happiness would not last however as soon a world war broke out, between differing magic users. The destruction of the planet was at stake, and many millions of people were killed in a war that spanned nearly a hundred years.

As a result of the war, the humans who were not blessed with magic, started to assert control and remove the magic abilities from people. Over the course of the next 100 years the population of magic users dropped further and further until it was nearly nothing. The smaller they got, the less they were remembered and soon the human population forgot about the magic users.

As time advanced, technology grew. Steam power, Internal Combustion, Nuclear Energy, Computers, The Internet and so on. Now Humanity is rooted in science. Refusing to believe the books of old that magic users existed. While humanity was making it's advances, the magic users blended into the background, living within these non magic user communities. However there was  always a risk of being found out, of a magic users flipping and causing untold havoc. To this end, in 1895 the most powerful magic family; the Kaline family created The Guild. A sort of magic authority. A law of its own. Using its power it peacefully and sometimes where necessary brutally kept the peace between Non magic and magic users, helping keep their identities secret. Generations have passed and each family member has made their mark on The Guild, for better or for worse.

The year is now 2011, The knowledge of the magic users is still mostly a secret. In order to broker a more peaceful agreement, the last head of The Guild, let the leaders of the world know of the existence of Magic Users. A peace deal of sorts was created on the condition that The Guild kept it's kind in order. After the death of the old leader, a new Kaline is now in charge. Arisen to power in her late teens the first thing she did was to create a book of laws, restricting the use of magic in certain situations and making sure that Magic users kept their existence hidden. The book applied punishments rather sparingly. Except for the 'Disgraceful 5'. The new head of The Guild saw these rules as the core tenants of Magic society. As a result there were some serious and nasty repercussions that followed should a person break them. While this new head showed compassion and mercy in most cases, breaking these 5 tenants would cause a far darker, more merciless side to show.

The book of magic law was widely accepted by everyone rather rapidly, and as a result crime was low. People abide by them and things were peaceful. They were nice. However a new, more dangerous school of thought was brewing in the corners of the magic community. Kira Tenshin, a magic user born in bastardy decided that change was needed. He viewed the guild as intrusive; a bane on the magic users of the world. He also believed that Magic users should be at the top of the food chain, with those stinking non magic humans bowing before them. When he publicly began airing these views at 17, his half blooded family disowned him entirely afraid of any repercussions the guild might impose on them. Forced out into the harsh world, Kira's cynical attitude against humanity grew exponentially and he decided to form the Dark Shadow. a new force with one goal in mind: Destroy the guild and overthrow the non magic users, installing the rightful heirs of the planet Nova back to where they belong, at the top.

Kira however has been quiet as of late. now 23, he has spent most of his time travelling the world, and recruiting people for his cause.The guild have had him on their radar for a while now, but since he has been quiet and not done anything to raise attention in the past few years, people have left him alone. This has allowed him to amass a small force of his own. While it pales in comparison to the terrifying power The Guild possess, The Dark Shadow is now ready to make it's move.

There are going to be set power levels in this RP. Everyone is going to be at different pre-defined levels. While this is can change during the RP it stops a Power Armed race.[/center]
