[@Vilageidiotx] I'm not blaming that exclusively. I'm a queer woman. I know all too well the various factors in all this crap. That said I'm also not going to pretend how media treats non-straight white cisgendered male characters doesn't say a lot about how society thinks of those people. And it in turn has a influence on how we as a society think of these people. It's a beast that feeds itself. I only used it as a example because of the recent outcry due to the constant killing of queer women on television. Not just side characters either. Main characters who happened to be lesbian or bisexual. That's not even considering the amount of abuse the (mostly queer) fandoms get if they 'ship' a queer pairing. See: Once Upon a Time's Swan Queen fandom treatment by the Captain Swan fandom. It's not just a ship war, there are genuine malicious attacks that are homophobic in nature and often specifically attempting to harm the other person because they, for once, want to see a happy ending queer story. There are a lot of factors but the recent systematic killing off of queer women on television, followed closely by a intentional massacre of this same demographic are related. Even if it's just proof saying that this was a specific LGBTQIA targeted attack on my people.
