Michael had been watching the Vitae's launch alongside his creators. The android had folded his hands behind his lower back and stared from his vantage point with great curiosity. The admiral's speech was inspiring, the man had honestly with his words. This mission the vessel was going on would not be easy. All aboard were chosen for survival of the human race, his creator's race. He had been specifically created for it as well. He had never set foot on Earth, or even seen it in person but it was humanity's home and there was a certain sadness in leaving one's home that hit the android hard. He had the ability to let tears loose and very nearly did. Then the moment of sadness was met with one of fear as a huge organic vessel appeared. The Devastators, it matched the recognizable designs of their ships tucked into his archives. He wondered about them, the mysterious beings that assaulted humanity seemingly out of the blue during the Three Day War. They simply mercilessly attacked and annihilated all in their path. Their motives were unclear even to the advanced android with a super-computerized mind. They weren't like the barbarians that pillaged the Roman Empire, those groups had reason for their assaults. They plundered, the Devastators just simply killed. They did not try to communicate with humanity, voice any demands. It was such a violent way to do things, almost animalistic in nature. He feared he would never be able to understand them, humanity had to get far away from them in order to survive. But still his curiosity was peeked, did the strange race have culture? Was there art? Or were they just machines programmed to destroy, like a twisted version of himself. Michael's thoughts were interrupted as the Vitae was rocked and he almost fell over. He was however able to stop himself and stood standing. "Move! Get to the safer parts of the ship!" A security officer screamed at him and the others. Michael did as was requested and jogged back to the lift he had come up on. As it lowered downwards his last sight was of the massive Devastator ship as the human forces prepared a counter attack. The android just hoped the ark would survive this conflict. For the first time in his life, Michael felt genuine fear.
