Here's my character! I imagine if/when our sheets are approved, we'll post them in the character sheet section? [hider=Wynne]Name: Winona "Wynne" Grant Age: 13 Trainer Class: Ace Trainer Physical Description: Wynne isn't particularly tall for age (at 5'3/160cm, she's just above average) but someone giving her a cursory glance would age her at closer to sixteen or so. This is entirely intentional; she does anything and everything she can in order to look older. She wears makeup every day, even on the road, and though it's usually just eyeliner, mascara, and tinted lip gloss, it's more than enough to make a difference. She also seems to have her earlobes pierced, with a stud in one lobe and two in the other. Her straight blonde hair she keeps pulled back into a short ponytail, save for one stray lock that hangs to the left side of her face. Time spent outside training has given her a light dusting of freckles on her shoulders, arms, and across her nose, but she's tanned to the point that the freckles are only a few shades darker than her skin, not particularly noticeable unless you're up close. Most of her clothing is on the more revealing side, as her figure is developing more quickly than most and she considers that another way to look older. Not counting her winter clothes, there's not a single outfit in her wardrobe that doesn't at least show her belly button. She's never seen without her signature red (with white stripes down the arms) sweat jacket. Personality: Wynne will settle for no less than the title of Pokémon League Champion. She wants other things -to see the sights of Kanto and beyond, to capture rare Pokémon, to be considered a cool, formidable trainer- but there is absolutely nothing that can touch the burning desire with which she covets the title. Even when she's not training, thoughts of Pokémon and battle strategies are always somewhere in the back of her mind. Arrogant as she can be, she knows good and well that there's always something she can do to be better. The way she pushes her little Charmander can be a little much, but she justifies it with the fact that it's only as hard as she pushes herself. Wynne's high standards extend to her image, which she considers quite important. Her ideal persona is cool and mature, and that's how she attempts to present herself to others. To that end, she avoids anything traditionally childish (whether she actually likes it or not) and has feigning disinterest in just about everything down to an art. This presentation works well enough most of the time, but she is at heart a normal girl, and every once in a while an emotion will catch her off-guard and the act does slip; she'll get frustrated at her own failures, or genuinely grin at a compliment, or, (perish the thought!) actually be interested spending time with people her own age. Such displays clearly embarrass her when she becomes aware of them, and the mask immediately goes back up. Background: Given the huge drive Wynne to become Champion, one might think that she has the sort of perfectionist, helicopter parents who pressure their children into achieving the parent's own failed dreams. On the contrary, both of her parents, while supportive, are fairly laid back people. Both were trainers from wealthy families who spent their teen years casually making their way around Kanto. Neither had more than a handful of badges when they met, and when Wynne was born not too long after, they were content to settle down in her mother's hometown of Celadon City. Because they were both fairly educated, they got good jobs, and could afford to give Wynne an upbringing more comfortable than most. Wynne bought her Charmander from a breeder at age nine, having saved up allowances to do so. When she wanted to go to a trainer school, her parents were more than happy to oblige. Wynne's father is originally from Pallet Town, and that's where his sister's family still live. Wynne stayed with her aunt, uncle, and two younger cousins almost every summer growing up. While she was little, she enjoyed the visits, and got along with just about everyone. The joy she found in her visits declined at the same rate as her ability to make friends with her peers. Spending time with "kids," as she called them, didn't suite her mature image, and most people who might have otherwise pursued friendship with her found either her aloof behavior (the more generous reason) or her "wannabe, self-important attitude" (one of the much less generous ways it has been phrased) off-putting. Now that she's thirteen, she's ready to begin her pokémon adventure, and she's once again made the journey to Pallet Town in order to get a Pokédex. Pokémon: She has a female Charmander -she simply calls her Charmander- who currently knows scratch and flamethrower. Charmander, despite Wynne rarely showing any affection whatsoever towards the pokémon, seems incredibly fond of her, and is very eager to please.
