Apathy, as one might expect, has ingrained itself in his personality so heavily that he has become an avatar for the concept--a living, breathing form given to laziness and listlessness. Whether it is through his words or his actions, the Admiral known as the 'Sleeping Dragon' has attained a notorious reputation as one of the most sporadically unreliable and painfully uncaring individuals in all of the seas. And even though he rules as one of the most powerful members of the Marines, even he cannot escape the trappings of his own personality. To understand the true depths of Jin's apathetic nature, one has to take a look at his personal philosophy. Unlike many other Marines, he has almost no wish to gain power or increase the holdings of the privilege granted by his title. The hunger within his stomach that calls for him to reach for the top only plays second fiddle to his overwhelming desire to just relax and avoid the trouble of getting up to do anything. This trails into his view on the world, which is somewhat cynical and entirely reminiscent of a 'rebellious teenager'. Jin finds almost no purpose in being bothered to 'try'. The way he sees it, things will eventually work themselves out in one way or the other, and whatever happens is going to happen whether or not he does anything to help or impede the events. This view is somewhat naive considering his incredible powers, which have already changed the face of the Marines, yet he seems to stick to the idea. When pressed to a philosophical discussion about it, however, Jin almost invariably decides that it would be too much effort to defend his point of view; he often simply goes silent or falls asleep as the other person talks. The apathy that 'The Son' embodies is not limited to personal pursuits and his world-view; it also relates to the way that he acts and behaves in social situations. When he entertains visitors on his ship, he is almost never an integral part of the conversation. He will nod off into a haze, stare off into space, or just shake his hand dismissively when people attempt to talk to him about important events. When they do get him to join in the conversation, Jin rarely takes things seriously. He will often make sarcastic, joking comments, even in front of Fleet Admiral. Others may find it rude, but some are entertained by his glib remarks and surprisingly fast tongue. Despite being considered a lazy, purposeless individual by many, almost all Marines and Pirates know that there is a reason Jin is called the 'Sleeping Dragon. When something particularly dire happens that he simply cannot ignore, Jin suddenly reveals that he is incredibly capable, and that he is more than willing to obliterate those that stand in his way. He will do this as quickly as he can in order to avoid troubling himself and wasting time, since he often considers using his clones more of an annoyance than anything else. If he should be brought to battle, Jin generally has two modes of thinking. On one hand, he could have been ordered by Fleet Admiral, in which case he accepts that he has no choice but to use his abilities. When this happens, he often cracks jokes, teases his opponents, or uses his sarcastic wit to entertain himself as he does what he was ordered to do. However, if he is attacked or roused from his rest by anyone other than Fleet Admiral himself, Jin reveals a dark part of his personality. He becomes incredibly irritated that someone would bother him and force him to move, and his attacks become kill-focused beyond what most would expect from him. This is what earned him the title of 'Sleeping Dragon', and it remains the sole reason why no one has dared to cross him.
Home Island/Sea
Marineford
History
Jin was born in Marineford to a long time Lieutenant Commander. Growing up, Jin lived a fairly normal child hood, even considering it the best years of his life. Most of his childhood was spent running around streets of his island with the other kids. Sometimes, Jin wouldn't come home till late at night, most likely just playing stupid games with the youngsters. Despite his mothers warnings to come home earlier and earlier, Jin played on, often coming home to 'spankings', at least until he turned 13 at which his mother no longer cared at that point. On Marineford, living without a father was a normality, even a badge of honor that many of its resident children wore. Jin was the same, often boasting of his fathers rank, but on the inside, the crushing loneliness was always there, constantly gnawing on the edges of his consciousness. Living without a father was the definition of a normal childhood to him. His mom didn't take this opportunity to complain or criticize his father, she in fact praised him. In other words, his mom didn't present his childhood as abnormal, so he didn't perceive it as such. Despite this, there was always unpredictable periods of loneliness, especially when he heard stories of other kids father visiting home. Jin could never hate his father, but when growing up, trying to conjure an image of him would result in seeing a piece of furniture than anything else. His father meant little to him. You don't miss what you've never experienced. At the age of 14, Jin left home for the the Navy Training Academy with those who he grew up with, all trying to chase after the legacy that their fathers left. It was soon apparent that Jin was going places, and was going to catch up to his father. He was a young prodigy, training with the best instructors that the academy could provide, which was usually any former Admirals available like Zepher. Leaving the academy at the top of his class, he graduated as one of the youngest Ensign in Navy history at 18, his childhood friends graduating as his subordinates. As one of his first missions, he was instructed to deliver and protect special cargo, a devil fruit. Unfortunately a devastating attack by a powerful pirate crew soon came. Faced with having the fruit fall into the wrong hands, he ate it himself. As the crew killed his friends in front of his eyes, his humanity was ripped away. Cornered and left with nothing to lose, Jin ripped many of the pirates to shreds with his bare hands, entering and unlocking the latent primal instincts of humanity. After being demoted to Warrant Officer for his failure, Jin began his climb to the top, without putting much effort into it. After losing much of his humanity and the person who he was at the bottom of the ocean with the rest of his childhood friends, Jin became a shell of his former self. No longer was he the carefree prodigy of Marineford. Now he was an animal, a monster seeking the rest of the crew that survived his rampage that day. With the creation of the 2nd World Military Draft, his old instructors encouraged him to take the opportunity. With his mastery over the sword, his primal physical abilities, and powerful devil fruit, he was easily able to show why he was nicknamed the Prodigy. He used this opportunity to become the youngest Admiral in Navy History. For 1 year, he has held this title, and shows no signs of going any higher, his drive to catch up to his father gone and replaced with unwavering apathy.
Devil Fruit:
Kuro Kuro no mi (Clone Clone Fruit) Jin has the ability to replicate people or objects that he comes in contact with numerous times, while usually being able to recombine the clones. With this fruit, he can create carbon copies of himself that are all under his control. This is similar to what happens when he creates copies of others. The clones retain their originals looks, but inherent powers are impossible to imitate. The clones are capable of fighting on the same level as the original physically, and are very durable, capable of fighting for a few hours. This can he shortened drastically if they he hit with a devastating attack or chopped to pieces, in which the clone will disappear in a puff of smoke. Objects that Jin replicates retain the same strength and luster of its original, but special properties cannot he taken. Size also matters when cloning objects and people. Jin can create one or two copies of a ship, but no more, this is the same with giants. Aside from this, Jin can create up to 30 copies of himself or an object or person, and all can be manipulated by his mind. The greatest draw back of this ability is he has to have come in contact with the person or object to replicate it, without coming in contract with anything, he can only replicate himself, but his primal abilities can be transferred to his clones. Another drawback of this ability though is that fact that depending on the amount of clones created, his primal powers are divided amongst them. If he were to make 10 clones, each would get get 10 percent of his power, this goes on and divides until he reaches his limit. All power returns when he recombines his clones with himself, objects aren't affected with this limit, as they don't carry one special properties.
Abilities/Race Traits:
Kenbunshoku Haki: which grants users a sixth sense of the world around them and limited precognitive abilities. Busoshoku Haki: which allows the user to use their spirit as armor to defend against attacks or to make their own attacks more potent. Hung Dar: A sword style that Jin developed that uses deep, low stances, and emphasizes on having firm, solid stances that flow into aggressive techniques that explode and drive through the opponent. This compiled with his clones quickly weaken the opponent with consistent, powerful, non stop attacks. Primal Control: The one ability that pushed Jin to the his position as Admiral is his complete control over the instincts of both Man and animal. His supreme discipline has afforded him the capability to shut off these unwanted emotions at will, allowing him to function unimpeded by the flights of fancy and unconscious desires that plague so many of his kind. This allows him to tap into humanity's basest instincts to his conscious will. By choice, he can allow portions of his body and mind to become primal, accessing senses, reflexes, and urges that lie at the very heart of all creatures. Instead of becoming a rabid monster, however, the Prodigy retains complete control over himself, gaining all of the advantages of the perfect beast without any of the mindlessness that goes hand in hand with such natural, primal power. Primal Senses: Immediately, each of Jin's five senses have the option to be flipped into overdrive, bombarding his transformed mind with sensory information. The acuity of his eyes become astonishing, granting him the ability to see distances and detail that few others could ever hope to experience. They also function in a complete lack of light, allowing him to fight in absolute darkness as if it were the middle of the day. His ears become highly sensitive, able to pick up sound from miles away and even hear the heartbeat of an enemy who comes within a few hundred feet. His nose becomes hyper-focused to a variety of odors, especially to blood, sweat, and endorphins, which allow the Apex Predator to essentially read the bodily functions of his enemies, giving him knowledge as to their emotions and their level of fatigue. Even his sense of touch becomes superhuman; he can block out pain completely, feel vibrations through the air, and find pressure points on non-humanoid bodies through the pulsing of their veins. These senses, when used in combat, turn Jin into a veritable monster, able to fight in any situation with tremendous sensory advantages. Primal Reflexes: With his superhuman senses of sight, hearing, touch, and smell, Jin's reaction time becomes unmatched. His awareness of his environment becomes almost supernatural, allowing him to both dodge attacks and find ways around defenses. This, paired with his masterful swordsmanship and clones, turns him into a logistical nightmare, darting from place to place with no need to stop and register the situation. Primal Strength: In addition to his enhanced senses, Jin gains the ability to harness the incredible strength that comes with releasing one's grip on all restrictions, becoming a beast whose body fights not to survive, but to reach the top of the food chain and crush everything else underfoot. By using this incredible source of physical power, the Apex Predator can gain access to a well of strength. Suddenly, he is capable of ripping through material defenses with his bare hands and the tips of his weapons. Although he is far more skilled at dodging attacks, his newfound strength gives him the option of fighting straight through them, parrying techniques that would otherwise have been impossible for him to withstand.
Fighting-Style
Jin wields 2 twin Katanas called Law and Order. Their light weight, maneuverability make them absolutely perfect for quick, deadly strikes that blow past defenses and puncture vital organs. He has mastered his sword style to the point to the point where he can match masters blow-to-blow, using his skills to parry, riposte, and disarm the majority of those he faces. Jin is also a master at hand to hand combat, his sheer physical strength something to be feared. While his preference in battle most often lies towards the use of his clones, mostly due to its usefulness in allowing him to sleep, the Apex Predator can quickly shift towards his skills in close-range fighting, should the situation call for it, as he is a monster in close quarters, and should be avoided, at all costs.
Ship Position
Admiral
Bounty
N/A
