Akita held her breath as the blast headed straight for Samu. She knew she wasn't close enough to get there in time. Her jaw dropped, as their companion ran in the way. "Shin!" Akita shouted and ran onto the grass to be beside the boy who was partially stuck in the wall. She placed two fingers on his neck and tried her best to feel for a pulse. It was there, but Shin was still out cold. "He's still alive!" Akita shouted to the audience that cheered for Shin's heroic actions. "I knew you'd win," she chuckled and let the paramedics take over. "I can't believe he made it through the fight and that attack!" Akita told Kiro when she returned to him. Ally cheered for Shin as much as anyone else. He had beaten the odds and defeated a Crane student! "That's right, Shin!" Then a blast made its way for Samu. She wished that she was quicker and could take the blast instead of Samu. He was beaten and now he was going to be killed! Then Shin took the blow instead. "Shin!" Ally yelled, but it was no use. The crowd waited in mainly anxious silence, very few whispers ringing through. When Akita yelled out Shin's condition, everyone cheered. The boy was alive! "Yeah, Shin!" She then looked over at Roshi clapping and commented, "Wow, that boy really can take a few hits, can't he?" She then realized the man next to her wasn't Roshi. "Wait, you aren't Ro- You know what, never mind." It wasn't worth even discussing, this must've been one of Roshi's hair-brained schemes to keep up his Jackie Chun persona, and it was working... for the most part. Samu closed his eyes tightly as he felt the warmth of the ray, but nothing hit him. He opened his eyes after a minute only to see Shin being examined by a Turtle. Tears welled up in his eyes as he barked as loud as he could, "Thank you, Turtle Shin!" With that, Samu blacked out completely drained physically, emotionally, and psychologically.
