Eventually, they reached a beach. Eddie tried not to voice her distaste of sand--it seemed that something was bothering Masquerade deeply. It hit him, and he fell back, burnt and injured.

[color=99ccff]"Maybe I should be the one rescuing [i]you[/i],"[/color] Eddie quipped. Delicately moving her fingers, she manipulated the light once more. This time, instead of creating an energy ball, she prevented the light that hit Mercury and her naturally from striking anyone's eyeballs.

Of course, they could still hear them. Eddie hadn't come up with a good way to stop sound waves yet.
