In other words, medical personnel, military or civilian, are protected by international law and it is illegal to cause harm to such figures even in the midst of combat. Would be interesting if that was a thing in this RP. Of course, the personnel in question is exempt from this law if they try to cause harm to the enemy.

Not only that, even if they are armed, they are not protected under the conventions.
