Doesn't look like they were most helpful, but they did learn of a detour. He was actually surprised none of these survivors had medical skills. Still, with Priscilla patched up now that wasn't too much a problem. The detour presented was a lift that led straight up. That means however that they needed to jump start the generators and get the power on again before they can use the lift. As he thought before, there was possible threat the moment the generators started up and the lights came on...

It all came down to Jack whether or not he was actually fast enough, but even then he should be able to easily outrun whatever was in here.
