Numerous people seemed to be climbing into it, obviously searching for evidence, or just curiosity. She tried to keep her back to the scene though, keeping her hand and her mind busy, she already had the image of the girl's body ingrained behind her eyelids, she didn't need more snapshots to dwell on. She began to hum softly to herself to keep her mind busy, a soft country lullaby that her grandma used to sing to her when she was knee high. She jumped as she felt a hand tap her shoulder. Her hand flew over her heart, and she held back a curse that threatened to fall from the tip of her tongue. She turned to see an officer, the culprit for the scare. "Well bless my heart officer, you scared the bajeezus otta me!" She let out a soft laugh, her southern drawl suddenly stunningly obvious due to him catching her off guard. She watched him tip his hat at her in apology. "Sorry Ma'am, I just wanted to ask you a few questions, didn't mean to scare you, I'm sure you've had enough of that for one day" He gave her a sympathetic smile, which Lyndsay echoed with an edge of sadness. "You're right, I have. Poor girl, bless her heart, I didn't know her, maybe smiled at her once or twice, that was it. She seemed sweet though. Lyndsay tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, rubbing a hand over her arm, goosebumps forming over her arms from the slight breeze that had picked up, asif the world was mourning. "Well there's my first question answered. Which apartment do you live in? Have you noticed anything suspicious?" "The rose building, with my husband Cameron, he's upstairs with a migraine, poor thing. He served overseas, and gatherings like this can be hard sometimes. I haven't noticed anything really, too busy unpacking and settling in, we haven't been here long." She saw a little sympathy in the officer's eyes at her mention of Cam, the usual reaction of those who seemed to understand a little. "Alright Ma'am, that will be all. Just let any of us know if you recall anything odd." He smiled, tipped his hat at her and left her to her thoughts. She smiled, nodded, and turned back to where she had been putting lids onto tupperware. She finished the last one, and looked up at the window of their apartment, she should probably check on Cam, she'd given him enough time to cool off, he'd probably be napping away the stress or doing a little exercise. She stacked up the last tupperware, smiled at Lawson at the smoker, and headed off up the stairs into her apartment. It didn't seem odd that her session of police questioning had been particularly short, afterall; who would suspect a sweet little pretty southern belle.
