Her mind, in her opinion, is being ruled over by some demonic entity, causing her to see the worst in each and every situation. As a private eye, that type of negativity does come with the job -- but it also causes it to be difficult for her to make friends. She craves companionship, but her own assurance that nothing good can ever happen prevents her from attaining it.

The very few people that Jade befriends can experience a fiercely caring relationship. She'll do anything for them, no matter the cost. Human History: Jade is the daughter of a private eye and a pimp (female, mind you). The two of them were ill-suited to being parents, and by the age of three, her uncle stepped in to raise her. Her parents would sometimes attempt to regain custody, only for them to put her life in danger, causing the uncle to return. Her uncle was (and is) a minor government official in England, making a decent salary, and was able to send her to boarding school by the time was she seven. 

At boarding school, Jade was taught how to play the violin, though she fell out of practice and forgot how to do so by the time she was 17. The kids here were rather homophobic, and once word got out that her mother was a pimp and her father a private eye currently in rehab for cocaine addiction, the bullying at the school became relentless. She remained at this school until she completed her secondary school education. 

The bullying caused her a great deal of pain, especially when she was 15 years old, an elaborate prank was pulled on her, in which a nice seeming boy pretended to fall in love with her. Quickly becoming more and more depressed, Jade became suicidal and depressed, self harming and becoming a quiet, darker person. Her uncle got her help as soon as he found out, but she never did become her previous, cheerier self again.

Attending King's College of London, Jade found herself fascinated with the violent minded, and studied Criminology. Like her father, she eventually became a private eye, proclaiming herself to be London's Actual Finest. With only her uncle for family, Jade is still estranged from her parents, and has no intention of starting a family of her own. Taking martial arts classes and learning to use various weapons made sense with being a private eye--she never could know what situation she was about to get herself into. Throwing herself into her work and finding comfort in cigarettes and alcohol, Jade moved to the United States soon after graduation, hoping to find more varied work. She ended up selling her soul while serving time for first degree murder-- a crime she claims she did not commit.

Demon History: She went to hell. Had a fun time, really. Ended up being an incredible marksman, and was trained as a demon to specifically go out and target hunters. Crowley used her often when it came to enforcing deals, and when Lucifer rose, he convinced her to help him put him away. She doesn't want the apocalypse to happen, as she, like Crowley, knows it'll be the end.
