Ssarak Dyreackthanose --- Certainly, Ssarak found most of the demonstrations rather interesting, and even entertaining. They showcased some abilities that he had not actually been aware of, in a few cases. He did not know that a pyromancer could strengthen the abilities of others, and he wondered if there were any abilities from other magebloods that could accomplish something similar? Some of the demonstrations were perhaps not as theatrical as the others, but they were all impressive in their own right. Ssarak had particular distaste for the cryomancy demonstration, as it brought the temperature of the room down far below anything he had experienced before. The Scorched Lands were, as the name would suggest, quite hot all the time, and since leaving, he had chosen to remain in the warmer regions of Tien, so a veritable blizzard inside the hall was not something he had been expecting. Thankfully, the cold was short lived, as the cryomancer brought the temperature of the hall back to normal in an instant. He did not think there would be a demonstration he disliked more than that one, but unfortunately, he was wrong. Through each demonstration, Ssarak found himself in awe at times, and entertained at others. The Dwarven rune master's demonstration was rather humorous, even if he had no idea what she was saying. Her show of teleportation seemed to bring the room into high spirits, but the next instructor, the Demonmancer, turned the dining hall to chaos. Ssarak was confused about what was going on when the room began to shake, the walls changed form, and even the table in front of him began to morph. Suddenly, the hall took on the form of the Inferno itself. Had this been all that occurred, Ssarak simply would have been surprised, but when the demons began to appear, he reacted instantly. He did not know what was going on. Was this part of the plan? Had the demons capitalized on some sort of mistake the Demonmancer made? In the heat of the moment, Ssarak did not have time to ponder these questions, for when the new demons began to attack, his instincts as a warrior threw him into action. Ssarak jumped up from his chair and grabbed an imp creature that was flying by him by the neck. then turned and turned and smashed it down through his chair, splintering it into pieces. Without wasting a moment, he crushed the imp's head under his boot and grabbed one of the nearby broken chair legs, which had broken into a sharp point on one side. Demons of all shapes and sizes were terrorizing the room, so Ssarak went for the closest of the new arrivals: a strange looking human-sized demon that was assaulting one of the staff members. With as much force as he could muster, he stabbed the makeshift wooden stake into the back of the demon, though it broke in half when he tried to pull it back out. The demon was not killed, so Ssarak prepared to defend himself when the demon turned around, but strangely, nothing happened. The look in the creature's eyes showed that it wanted to slaughter the Esyire, but it just growled, then moved on to another staff member. Looking around, Ssarak finally noticed that all of the demons were only attacking the other demons that served the college. None of the students had even been touched. Soon enough, the Demonmancer took his seat, and the next instructor, the Herbamancer dealt with the attacking demons. Tree roots burst out of the ground and crushed many of the attackers to death, while, at the same time, the room started to shift back into its previous form. For obvious reasons, herbamancy was not a popular mageblood in the barren Scorched Lands, so he had no idea of the sheer potential it had in a conflict. In truth, Lucilia's demonstration had impressed Ssarak more than any of the others so far, though it did not serve to calm his nerves. The Demonmany demonstration quite understandably put him on edge, and it certainly did not do wonders for the idea that the students would be safe in the college. Perhaps, Ssarak reasoned, it would be a good idea for him to remain armed from this point forward. By the end of Lucilia's demonstration, the dining hall was mostly back to normal. Except now Ssarak did not have a chair.
