The first percussion revolver was made by Lenormand of Paris in 1820[1] and the first percussion cap revolver was invented by the Italian Francesco Antonio Broccu in 1833." - Wikipedia It's worth remembering, though, that none of these revolvers (nor even the 1836 Colt) had metal cartridges. You had to load each cylinder barrel individually.
