For the mythology thing, it's still connected to that and needs a rename. If you want examples of weapons in-setting with names, the main one I have in mind is Repharion, so... something like that? Obviously not actually named Repharion, since that's taken, but something along those lines.

He can stay a magic swordsman perfectly fine, just tone the amount of magic he has down.

As for the stuff with Fanilly, just tell me what you had in mind and I'll say if it's okay.
