{Affiliation(s)} - She is the daughter of King Leon of Sparta during 590-560 BC and his wife, Aspasia. Upon becoming a princess along with her other seven sisters, she preferred to hide among them and let them be picked off for marriage in her place. - Due to her extended family, she can also be spotted in their jewelry store helping out, or passing food to the homeless on her journey home. {Personality} Since she was a young child, she was always bustling with energy and random thoughts: she questioned everyone and everything to hear different outcomes, and even attempted doing everything at least once while she was at it. She’s an avid learner, realizing her life could end in the blink of an eye ever since her father became the King of Sparta. Her head is constantly grinding for information, careful to listen to what people say and how they say it, noting little quirks for truth tellers and lying liars. She’s willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, but remembers when she’s been wronged and distrusts them when they’re repeat offenders. Because of all this, she seems to be continuously on edge, alert for danger: she’s not oblivious to the fact that people can be evil. Now that she’s in her late teens, her family insists she gets married before she becomes a spinster. She laughed in their face and brushed it off, claiming that a male would have to be strong enough to take her down in order to get her to agree to marriage. In the meantime, she roams the city for adventures, hiding under a hood or veil when she doesn’t want to be recognized. She thoroughly enjoys meandering during the night, fascinated by the shooting stars she’s able to catch quite often. {History} Andromeda was brought up in the Peloponnese before her father ascended the throne, near the Isthmus of Corinth. As a young child, she made up her own game outdoors where she would find specific plants to crush up with a pestle in her mortar. Eventually she would find the ones with the best scent and washed her sisters’ hairs in it, (always the willing victims). Her immediate family thought she was a rather strange child, since she claimed she never wanted to be wedded off like her three eldest sisters and her aunts. However, her extended family loved her free-willed spirit and her own aunts claimed she was a beacon of life and joy, mostly owing to the fact that they never wanted to be married early in their lives as well. Andromeda was always welcomed to her various uncles or aunts’ homes every summer and winter, and she learned important life lessons from them. At the age of 16, her parents stopped sending her to her relatives’ homes for the winter, thus leaving her 3/4th of the time in Sparta, doing their bidding as royalty. She amuses their idea for a suitor for her, going along with half of it until she screams out she’s interested in women to disgust the man. It only seems to work half of the time, but nonetheless, she finds a way to offend them and make herself unsuitable for marriage. With disapproving looks from her Queen mother, she’s been told that if she can’t get in line with her other sisters, she’ll be exiled from her entire family to become a priestess. It’s not really a threat, though: she would rather aim for a life of solidarity than become wrought with childbearing. {Skills} She preferred to spend time with her extended family in Mount Taygetus, mostly because they gave her more freedom than her own family. They never once expected her to act like a childbearing woman with no skills: instead, her uncles insisted she learned along with her male cousins on how to fight and her aunts took charge of Andromeda’s education, along with household chores to keep her occupied once she finished her studies. Over time, she became a skilled warrior like her Spartan cousins and her two brothers, as well as a fantastic seamstress for every snag or tear. An odd thing she learned along the river banks was how to skip stones across for incredible distances, thus having a knack for extreme accuracy when she’s feeling mischievous and rains pebbles upon her cousins when they return from war. She’s also capable of shooting a bullseye with a bow and arrow while riding a horse, and cooking up a storm when she has a team of women in charge of prepping one item or two.
