[/quote] In Plato's Republic the "ideal" society is divided between Workers, Guardians, and Rulers. with the dominant part of your "soul" being the class you would wind up in, each class has a virtue associated with it. The Rulers or Philosopher kings are those who possess a love for wisdom, not unlike the cerebral state you are proposing, they make the decisions They are supposed to live fairly spartan lives, they dont "own" anything. The Guardians who possess a strong spirit and sense of justice protect the society and keep the workers in line And the workers produce all the food and other necessities of life, they are driven by desire. They are allowed to own property. Thats just a basic overview, its more detailed in the book of course.
