Name: Ascot Rook Appearance: Age: 14 Skills: Ascot has basic knowledge of martial arts and is a sprinter, but that is not his forte, which is history, culture, politics and economics. Though not good at planning due to his recklessness, he can call on a vast amount of information from his studies, and can also memorize architectural plans and quirks of terrain. Powers: Everyone has Tesk, Tsun, and Tok, plus two others, perhaps that they learned on their own. Void Sight - When in complete darkness, Ascot can see visions of the Past, Present, and Future, which can be either vague and metaphorical, or clear and concise. The GM dictates what Ascot sees in his visions. Starfire - Ascot can conjure up bolts of burning light, but can make it so that the excess heat isn't transferred into the surroundings, defying convection. Right now, however, this is of limited use, as he can only heat things the way a normal fire could, but this ability has the potential to advance as Ascot grows. Personality: Ascot is a driven soul, dedicated to his perceived duties and the idea of a world free from the Alien Yoke. Though not that good a planner (as mentioned in 'skills'), Ascot is someone whose head is brimming with notions, projects, and bits of philosophy, mostly relating to how Earth can be reshaped after it is liberated, as well as how it can be liberated in the first place. However, beneath it all is still a 14-year old kid who feels the weight of the world around him, and wants friends, allies, and playmates to help overcome the burden of expectations upon him. Bio: Ascot only has vague memories of the time before the Invasion, during which time he was given by his parents to the Resistance to 'keep safe', before said parents disappeared into an uncertain fate. Raised in the bunkers used by the rebels, the boy was taken under the wing of a professor allied to the Rebellion, who taught him and other 'genius children' not only of the necessity to fight, but also of the necessity to rebuild once the fighting was over. While the previous generations fought to shake off the yoke, his' was going to be the one that actually made life afterwards worth living, and restore Humanity's dignity. It was a lonely life, especially as he and the other children were frequently separated and shuffled across bunkers and complexes in order to avoid the Aliens' hunters, but he managed, although deep inside, he was lonely, immensely so. He began to shut himself in his room whenever he was not learning or training, hiding from his own demons in complete darkness. Which was how he unlocked his powers, he supposed. When he was 12, he met Samuel Briggs, who was then 14. They became fast friends*, and Ascot found someone to cling to, and someone who can both support and supported him. He also met Alexander Sky, who was 18 at that time, and the two became friends as well. And with friends, came something to strive for besides abstract goals. With friends came something to inspire him to be better, something to spur him into using his powers for people. And also, something to be afraid of losing... *If [@TheUnknowable] Permits. Equipment: Clothes, inlcuding a hoodie, a swiss army knife, and a miniature set of body armor, a carbine, and a saber. He also has books, crayons, pencils, pens, and a notebook.
