If I could make an addition here, the type of gun and type of bullets matter. The type of bullets moreso than the exact firearm, as we are keeping track of supplies closely to monitor what runs are needed. Case in point: ammunition is a hell of a lot easier to find for a Beretta 17 than it is a Desert Eagle. Likewise, .38 vs .45 is huge, if you're scavenging. 

Just saying, it will make things a lot smoother if you pick a caliber and magazine capacity, if not a specific weapon, subject of course to the comfort level of the GM.
