[@Harley Q] then why do we have two other houses?
I can answer this question as I am the GM. We have two other houses for several reasons; They are there for building up the world- this is a huge land with different areas. They can't be completely barren- and I wanted people to know that there are other people outside besides just them. It is there for story telling- people will have opinions and thoughts about these other people and there is opportunity to interact with these people as well. I opened the possibility for your character to come from any of these areas originally as well- within reason. I on the other hand LIMITED where you can come from and where your characters fit in, because if I had all areas open- people would be spread out, and people would have a harder time having someone to communicate with and build a story with. Nothing, and I mean nothing kills a roleplay faster than several characters off doing their own thing while one or two groups of people are moving the story along. Those stragglers will eventually leave the roleplay and then, well- we're back to nothing. These houses will play a role in the future, whether it big or small. Everything is for a reason.
