but yeah, the cousin-nephew-niece thing can get kinda convoluted when you start going through multiple generations and the 'third cousin four times removed' bullshit. but for the most basic level… if i am the starting point, my parents' siblings are my aunties and uncles. me and my siblings are their nieces and nephews. my aunty's/uncle's children are my cousins. cousin is gender neutral. aunty/niece is female. uncle/nephew is male.
