[@Whimsley]
Havoc Matsuda
While he was first busied with thought on how, where and when to train, Havoc couldn't help but bask in the view surrounding him. He lived in the mountains and the woods. He knew nature well, but not in it's fullest. Be it simply by chance or coincidence, Rook was not looking from any sure out into the horizon... he was floating on the horizon. Even at the simplest expression, seeing only blue for just this brief minute or so in any direction from the ship gave him an appreciate that his whole life he had never experienced. He felt alone, away from the world, but also, more in the open than ever. Both concealed and exposed at the same time. The fact that the sunset, the crisp sea breeze and gulls squawking overhead added to the experience only compelled him all the more to share it with his pokemon. Havoc reached about his waist, drawing Rook's pokeball. As before, he stretched his arm over his lower face. "Itsudemo Koi, Rook!" chanted Havoc as he threw the houndour's pokeball like a kunai. Rook popped out, tail wagging and immediately began prancing about simply gleefully looking at everything. Havoc watched Rook for a moment, giving him the space and the freedom to take in the surroundings at his own pace. He quickly appreciated that Rook was a hyper inquisitive personality. It was a mix of curiosity and fearlessness. Rook would invade the space of anyone and anything that looked interesting to him, from approaching other pokemon to sniff and wag his tail to people with food or items to hand that flashed or sparkled. Havoc at first figured Rook would soon enough settle down on his own, having probably never been 'outside' like this before. However, he let Rook pace quite a few steps away from him before his attention was caught by a wingull perched on the rail with its tail hanging down. The natural predatory instinct must have kicked in as Rook settled into a poise and made a pounce at the bird pokemon. Havoc's eyes widened realising what his pokemon was doing and stepped into action. Rook grappled onto the tail of the wingull, causing it to immediately set into distress and begin to fly away. Rook was catapulted up by the wingull above the railing and over the side of the ferry. ...Fortunately, Havoc was there in time to grab Rook by his tail. To do so, Havoc himself was hanging over the rail, clutching onto it by wrapping his legs around the bar. He lifted Rook up by the tail so that their upside down heads were level, with a stern expression showing that he was less than impressed. Rook, still having no real appreciation for danger were still panting with a wide sincere smile and licked the front of Havoc's face, believing his trainer to be giving him a cuddle. Havoc sighed, trying his best not to laugh at Rook's antics lest he promote the behavior in the future. Once back over the right and safe side of the rail, Havoc put down Rook. "Stay close." he ordered. Rook barked in agreement. While Havoc moved forward, Rook did as he was told, but was still running around Havoc, slipping away momentarily to check something a few paces away before returning.
You noted to your right and near the stern was a towering pillar of architecture. Each floor had a curved pane of glass upon its front, revealing a basic outline of the interior within. The first floor revealed a magnificent dining hall. You noted several large, round tables draped in a fine, silken cloth. People of formal attire were currently setting silverware in front of black, cushioned chairs of red velvet. The image of the dining room became unfocused past the first couple rows of tables, so you couldn’t quite make out everything. Above and on the second floor revealed two rooms. On the left was what appeared to be a miniature market, with a couple shelves lined with basic necessities. Food, water, potions, some heals here and there. There were even post cards and letters one could send around the world, given they had another to write to. On the highest shelves were some stuffed dolls, but what there were was a mystery to you. There was also sign hung up on the headboard above the register, but the writing was too far to read. Upon the precipice of the gleaming tower was a final window. Two massive, calloused hands gripped the sides of a black leathery chair. Professor Palm looked out above the scenery, tipping his yellow hat and scratching his withered, gnarly beard. Flashing lights appeared as a dotted mosaic behind him. You could just make out some sorts of individuals rushing about as shadows, blocking outlines of various portions of the lit backdrop. “You there, boy!” You turned to see an old man, armed to the teeth with what appeared to be fishing equipment. Hooks, rods, bait, tackle, lures, hats, pockets of all shapes and sizes, small boxes and tanks for any sort of aquatic creature, buckets, shells, nets, and a tiny Krabby that sat upon his shoulder. It grunted a contorted growl as it snipped its claws into the air. “Koo-ki Koo-ki!” “Would y’mind helping an old feller go on one last fishin’ trip?” A passing sailor laughed at the spectacle, putting both of his hands on his hips. “Rusty, you can’t be serious. You know she’s not out there anymore.” “Aye, that might be true, but I have to try…” The sailor sighed and shrugged, striding over into your direction. He looked over his shoulder towards Rusty and beamed a smile before turning back to you. He spoke between giggles, obviously tickled by the determined old man. “If you plan on going, I hope you secure your ear. It might fall off with the stories Rusty has to share. He’s a good man, and a better sailor. He’ll take care of you.”
At first, Havoc raised an eyebrow to the sight of the old fisherman, but Rook was already enamoured by the pokemon on the fisherman's shoulder, edging off the side of the ferry, clearly wanting to board the raft. "What do you think champ?" asked Havoc playfully. Rook turned back hopping in the spot excitedly with barks. Havoc nodded and boarded the raft after Rook. "What can we help you with, Rusty." Havoc asked as he settled himself in. Rook jumped into his lap for a seat, tail still wagging eccentrically.
