[@Lady Amalthea] [@Sigil] Project Starlight was a DoD project looking into the development of an electronic weapon that could pretty much shoot a jet out of the sky without firing a single bullet. By sending out a concentrated burst of ElectroMagnetic Pulses it was supposed to fry a jets computers so that it had no flying assistance, essentially causing it to fall from the sky. In theory, it was possible, and under lab and small scale tests, it worked a treat. However scaling it to something that could take down a jet from the ground, was impossible. Several failed tests proved that the amount of Eltrocmagentic force required was beyond the current bounds of technology. While the project was a failure the DoD had learnt some valuable lessons about protecting electronics from EMPs and Starlight was going to be used to create small scale jammers to be used in counter-terrorist scenarios. A couple of weeks before the outbreak the project had been moved onto this new direction and Greg had almost finished a smaller handheld close range device.
