Jane was surprised over the sudden signs of affection between Willa and Benji. Almost enough to get her mind off the fact that she was standing in the middle of a modern dragon nest. Every source, she knew, said dragons were scavengers, barely getting by. This suggested something entirely different.
[i]What a mess they could make if employed by [color=fff200][b]Edge[/b][/color],[/i] Jane thought. Having next to no experience around dragons put Jane slightly on... [i]well, "edge"[/i]. She couldn’t help, but tighten her body as she walked. Once again, ready for a fight.
Something moved in her back pocket, and it turned out to be her phone.
[b]*LISA*[/b] It said on the screen, as the phone continued to vibrate. It had been a while since they spoke. In fact, it had been 48 hours. So much had happened since then; It seemed like an eternity ago.
[i][i]I can’t. Not now. I’m… I’m doing this for you.[/i][/i] Jane formed the words though they never escaped her lips. Pushing “ignore call” had never been harder than it was right now. It was as if the button required an extra effort.
