The windows shook as another peal of thunder came from the store outside. It was yet another day that everyone would be stuck inside with no fresh air or space. Daniel sighed to himself at the thought of staying in, then ducked as the paintbrush was once again thrown at him. He moved as far away from where it landed as he could and tried to make himself as invisible as possible. He saw Evan smirk at him as she retrieved the brush and shuddered. He did not know why she was always picking on him. Ever since he had gotten to Wonderland Asylum she had been horrible to him. Once she had even tried to grab his bunny ears, but she learned that touching them was a mistake when he had bitten her. However, after that incident she had gotten even more aggressive in her disdain. All he wanted was to be left alone but more and more people kept coming here. He looked over to where the newest addition was sitting and talking to Olivia. She seemed nice enough from a distance but he had thought the same thing about Olivia too at first and well, that was something he did not want to dwell on. He wrapped his arms around himself and walked over to one of the couches that was against the wall and grabbed a magazine. Maybe if he pretended to be busy everyone would leave him alone. He could only hope. -- Chess watched the exchange between Daniel and Evan and tried not to laugh. Evan was such a crazy bitch and Daniel was such a little wuss. It was almost too easy to pick on him and while Evan could be fun to mess with as well, she often proved that redheads were batshit crazy with her actions so he picked and chose when and where to mess with her. He walked over to where Ryan was standing and said, "Looks like Evan is up to her usual trick." "What do I care? And why are you speaking to me again? Didn't I tell you last time to fuck off unless I sought you out?" Ryan barked and glared at Chess icily. Most of the people in here bugged the fuck out of him, however for some reason Chess did not see to get the hint and kept trying to interact. "Now, Ry, don't be that way. I am just trying to point out something funny. Besides, you know you secretly like talking to me. We are buds." Chess replied and put his arm around Ryan's shoulders in a friendly manner. "If you don't remove your arm from me I will fucking break it, rip it from your body and beat you to death with it." The look he gave Chess made him hastily back off. Sometimes Ryan scared the shit out of him because he could tell he actually meant some of the fucked up things he said. "Chill. I didn't mean anything by it." He smiled nervously and looked around before landing on the new girl and Olivia. "What do you think of the new girl huh? Pretty hot, huh?" Ryan looked through him before saying quietly, "She had potential. Now fuck off." He turned away from Chess and started walking over towards his sister. He did not like that she was that close to anyone, even the new girl. He figured he better make that clear right from the start but before he got to them, the girl had walked off. He sat down next to Olivia and poke her in the side, hard. "Just what was that all about? Who is she?" He demanded. He waited for her to stop playing with her dolls and answer him. He grabbed the brush from her hand and snapped it in two then smiled at her. She better not take too long to answer him or he would get irritable. -- As she drew in her notebook, Winter peripherally took in the chaos around her. She saw that Evan was being her usual dramatic self. Chess was annoying Ryan, while Ryan seemed to be psychotic which was no surprise. Olivia was with her dolls and was looking after Laura. Chris was trying to run herd on his sister as usual. Just another fun filled day at the asylum it seemed. She had noticed the new girl come in earlier but had not paid her too much attention as she was involved in her drawing until she heard, “Hi there, I’m Alice, what’s your name?” She looked up and saw a pretty , blond girl standing in front of her. "Weren't you talking to Olivia a minute ago? You are the new girl aren't you. My name is Winter." She smiled a shy smile and tried to be as pleasant as she could. She did not have many friends in this place, except her twin, Summer. She saw Summer behind Alice, waving her hands like she wanted to be introduced but Winter just ignored her. She knew that only she could see her and if she introduced her already then she would not make a new friend. She would wait until they got to know each other a bit better before she said anything about Summer. She held her finger in front of her mouth in a shush motion to Summer when Alice was not looking and saw Summer nod and wander off. She turned back to Alice and gave her, her undivided attention. -- Laura woke up and saw that she was sitting beside Olivia again. Ever since Olivia had gotten to Wonderland she had attached herself to her. She did not mind so much and wished that she could actually speak to the girl and tell her that but whenever she opened her mouth things got jumbled. She looked around and saw Daniel alone as usual and the new girl talking to Winter. Chess seemed to be sulking at one of the tables and beside Olivia was Ryan. She started to rock back and forth. She did not like Ryan. He was scary. She opened her mouth to ask Olviia to make him leave. "The red door will open soon and then there will be blood." She closed her mouth and shook her head. "Don't let them escape or the flowers will cry." She got to her feet and yelled, "The queens will dance and heads shall roll." She started to cry and then scream. She was frustrated and felt herself losing control again. She saw the nurse coming towards her with a needle and started to cry harder. When it pierced her flesh she felt the usual cool numbness taking over and then slowly lost consciousness. "Oliva, please watch over her for now. I will send one of the orderlies to come and collect her in a bit." The nurse said as she lowered Laura back on to the couch beside Liv. She grabbed a blanket and covered Laura with it. "Poor kid." she muttered as she walked off. -- Dr. Harrison looked at the monitors and leaned back in his chair. He saw the commotion between Evan and the others, and poor little Laura and her fit. He saw the new patient, Alice talking to Winter and frowned. Oh no, no. I am not sure that I approve of that at all. For now I will just see what happens but it will have to be monitored closely. He grinned to himself as he saw Laura passed out on the couch. She was responding to the new medication wonderfully. If his calculations were correct then she would not be able to speak coherently while on the new dose. He had a few other tweaks to make to achieve his ultimate goal but for now it would suffice. He sat up and looked at the monitors once more. His eyes were drawn as always to one person and he sighed. He logged off the computer and stood up. It was getting close to time to start his rounds and then do the group therapy session. Molding his face back into its usual serene expression, he left his office. It would not do for anyone to see him looking other than perfect.
