Oswald Connoly- Infirmary
Leaning slightly backward as Shiro approached and fawned over him, Oswald's eyebrow slid upwards. It was uncomfortable to have somebody, especially somebody he hardly knew, getting so flustered about the injuries he'd suffered. But it seemed like everybody wanted to treat him like he was liable to re-break all his ribs and puncture his lung again just with a little movement, and that was frustrating. "I'm...mostly alright. Feel like I got hit by a convoy of trucks, but other than that, I'm gonna live." Letting Diamond go off on her rant, Oswald let out a light sigh. "She's...exaggerating a bit, but she's in the right...ballpark. Last mission wasn't a set up. It just...it was a situation that got bad because the right people weren't listening." Taking a few moments to arrange his thoughts and wonder what he could tell Shiro, Oswald continued. "This mission was a whole other deal, though. Rogue Huntress. Pair of 'em. Nearly killed us all. If it weren't for...if Ms. Vanhomrigh hadn't come when she did, we'd all be Grimm food right about now." The image of Alex and Chase's bodies came unbidden to Oswald, making his eyes narrow in anger. "The..the one we fought, she fucking killed them, Shiro. Two guys who saved our lives. They were just mercs, with no measurable Aura. Probably couldn't even register on the most sensitive scales. And she just crushed them like...like tissue paper." For a moment, Oswald's Aura threatened to show itself physically, a small dark glow appearing around the wounded fighter before fading quickly. "And I just...I just watched it happen. I wasn't fast enough. I couldn't...I couldn't stop that fucking thing, even with three other people. And I couldn't even protect them." Small tears battled to race down Oswald's face, but he fought them as hard as he dared. Staring away from Shiro, Oswald sighed. "Diamond...had to see it all. I was lucky enough to be half-dead and in the midst of shock, and I know I'll never be able to unsee that. I don't blame her for wondering what the fuck we're doing here."
