[color=f6989d]Barry is a giant of a person, standing at 6'6" in height and having quite the burly body build. Admittedly he is a tad bit on the pudgy side, but don't be fooled under what he calls his "cushioning" he has a mound of unshakable muscle that paired with his large frame and broad shoulders makes him quite the titian sized demigod. He has lightly tanned skin from spending long hours in the sun, likewise he also has quite the accumulation of body hair most noticeably on his arms and chest. His eyes are a bright hazel, matching the color of a ripe wheat field, and holds a unmistakable gleam of joy in them. His hair is an assortment of rich dark brown curls that he usually keeps tied back. He has a tattoo of a blooming rose on his left shoulder. His usual attire is pretty simple, some sort of sleeveless T-shirt paired with some shorts and a set of sandals.[/color]

[color=f6989d]The only thing bigger than Barry is his personality, everything he does he does to the fullest and with a huge smile on his face. There is no real off switch with Barry, especially when it comes to his humor, he will do everything in his power to put a smile on the faces of those around him. A giant man with a giant heart as he is described he is quite the caring person, he hates to see it when someone is upset and will make it his personal quest to help that person. He is the unofficial big brother of everyone at camp, having been there for so long he sees all the campers as his family and would do anything for. He is a incredibly passionate about many things in life, especially his gardening and cooking. Another one of his unofficial titles at camp is that of head chef, he can often be found cooking in the little makeshift kitchen he has set up in his cabin when he has down time, a lot of the campers are drawn to the smells often drifting from cabin four. He is also quite the eco warrior, he catches you littering you better be ready to have your ear talked off about protecting mother earth.[/color]

[color=f6989d]Demeter has always been known for being quite... funny when it came to picking her mortal lovers. Sure you have the talented farmer here or the skilled florist there, but you also have many men that just happened to have the right name like Gardener or Woods. You can only imagine the Goddess's pleasant surprise once she came across Oscar Groves, a genius botanist as well as a man with a last name that was right up her ally, and this is where Barry comes into the picture.

Barry's childhood was pretty peaceful for a demigod's, well as far as he knew. His father had set up shop in Hawaii and opened a little herbalist store by the name of [I]"Big Daddy Oak's Grove"[/I] where he sold a whole assortment of plants that could help with any ailment you could imagine, the locals considered him a god send for all the medical attention he gave them. As for Barry growing up on the island he couldn't ask for anything more, long days playing under the sun with friends and even longer nights surfing the waves.

Unfortunately that all ended when he turned eight, it turned out that Daddy Oak had found a mixture of herbs that could mask a demigod's scent from monsters and had been using it to protect his son, but as Barry got older and stronger so did his godly scent eventually it got to the point that the mixture didn't work any more and with that came the monsters. Luckily Daddy Oak wasn't completely in the dark when it came to monsters, Demeter did make sure to give him the full story of who she was and the threats that Barry would face, so like his little monster repellent he was able to whip up some monster poison just the same. But it was after this first attack that Barry was told the truth about himself and who his mother was, it goes without saying that it was a lot for a child to take in.

It was around this time that a Satyr happened upon Barry and his father and offered to take him to a sanctuary for his kind, Camp Half-Blood. There was little room to turn the offer so after a teary eyed goodbye to his father Barry was off for the mainland. The journey was... less than uneventful, many a monsters found their way after the two, but the one good thing to come out of it was that Barry came across Omorfiá who the two quickly formed a unbreakable bond. Eventually the journey came to a end and Barry made it to Camp Half-Blood safe and sound, well as safe as he was. That was eleven years ago and since then Barry has worked his way into becoming the head of the Demeter cabin and one of the longest staying members of the camp.[/color]

As a child of Demeter Barry has an inherent control over the plants of the world, being able to make them flourish and thrive even in the most dire of situations. In his case he seems to have a even stronger control over the flora around him, being able to grow plants to staggeringly large size and bend them to his will in order to attack or hinder foes. His go to method of using this ability it to summon massive thorn covered roots from the earth.
[i][u]"Sometimes it is good to slow down and smell the roses... and ask them for directions."[/u][/i]
Barry has a kind of GPS built into him in the form of being able to sense his surroundings through the plant life around him. Be it a field of flowers or a crop of wheat if Barry slows down and concentrates he can in a way see through the plants. This is the main reason people fight to have the Demeter cabin on their team for capture the flag.
[i][u]"Guess you can say I am the spiritual type."[/u][/i]
Barry has some control over the spirits of nature, though it should be described as more of a sway really, many compare it to the children of Aphrodite charmspeaking but to a lesser extent. He can convince spirits like karpoi or nymphs to help him when need be and they are far more likely to help him than any other random demigod, but if he gives them a reason to say no they will just like any other person would. Later on if he further improves this skill he could possible even summon these spirits.
[i][u]"Don't worry we have flower power to protect us!"[/u][/i]
Barry's weapon of choice is a rather large shield with a rose decal that he is able to summon from the tattoo on his shoulder, it is appropriately been named flower power. If he loses it in battle he can resummons it from his shoulder but it will take a few moments.
[i][u]"Bon Appétit, Grubs On!"[/u][/i]
Barry is quite the talented chef that is able to cook nearly anything. Whatever you have a craving for he can make practically make with a snap of his fingers, anything from the sweetest of deserts to the healthiest veggie dishes. If you catch him during his down time you can probably talk him into cooking you something.

Though no wear nearly as gifted as the children of Apollo Barry does know his way around the strings. He can play the guitar pretty masterfully, but he prefers to stick to his ukulele.

Barry loves surfing and would do more of it if there were better waves at camp, but that doesn't stop him from trying every now and then.[/color]

[color=f6989d]Omorfiá is Barry's best friend and a giant peach colored lion. She is a descendent of the Nemean lion, making her quite the tough cookie. Though some of the newer campers are scared of her she is a huge teddy bear once you get to know her.
When Barry isn't at camp he is usually attending his collage culinary classes.
He seems to be quite the hit with the nymphs around the camp, maybe it has to do with his way with nature, but it has gotten to the point that many of them have developed very obvious crushes on him. Funny enough this is the reason a lot of the camp's satyrs don't like him, who knew that the goat men were the jealous type.[/color]
