Oh who was it. I think it was Hume? Then again Hume did say metaphysics is only for idiots pretty much. I'm not sure I'd have to go digging. Anyways he(?) suggested that everything was predetermined, however he suggested that this predetermined Universe had already allowed for points in time for free will to occur. Basically the foundation for Branching Theory and most likely the source for all infinite universe ideas we've ever come across. I'd propose that Free Will is a human concept and since we can't detect that our life is already laid out before us with our own human comprehension then that is identical enough to be the same as free will existing.
