I want to explain something that could probably constitute a large plothole: why didn't Jim get a bus to Salem and walk from there? Well, that's  because I wanted to torture Jim. Jim wants to become a 'man' and he'd do stupid, unnecessary shit to become one. Which includes walking 120 miles in three days (alright, yeah, I know). 

Also, it just simply didn't occur to me to get him to Salem. 

Anyway, can't wait for the other posts and CS' on their way!
