[@Nikki Moonlight][@Lady Athena][@CriticalHit] Valerian had stayed silent during the exchanges that had just been had. He had been thinking of what just took place. Something was up. He had initially been pushed into this pattern of thought by Rai's thinking out load, and it didn't make sense. What would a vampire have to gain from saving children from his own kind? No, this was improbably. One answer could've been that he felt a kinsmanship towards them due to his being recently turned. There was no way of validating this, so it could be crossed off for now. It truly would have been tragic if that was the truth, and would explain why he lost - he would be weaker. Another answer was that the vampire was some kind of upholder of the law. This was unheard of to Valerian; a vampire who not only followed but also enforced the rules? Not a chance. Thus he crossed this off the list based on his own prejudices. The final thought that went through Valerian's mind was that this was some form of plot. He wasn't sure what he had to gain from attempting to gain the trust of orphans, so this thought was shelved. Valerian was stumped. It didn't make any sense.
