There's no limit to what you can play when it comes to social status and especially nature. The only thing I'm weary of is OP characters so not a single playable character will be the ultimate badass, it applies to everyone. If you want someone extremely powerful, he'd have to be an NPC or relatively peaceful. But anyway, it's best if you give me an idea of what you want to play, role-wise, and we can work it into the story. 

As a pretty important point, I don't know if you got that, but both angels and demons are pretty far from the biblical sense of the words. They're closer to the Watches in Lukyanenko's universe and both of them can be good or evil. And anyway, both factions were in relative balance and an uneasy peace until just now. :p
