In a large opening between several houses a hooded figure stood with a deadly weapon in his hands. Across from the figure stood a group in hooded coats similar to that of the assassins’ of old. He stood across from the others with the hood of his sweatshirt concealing his face. If only the others could see the smirk his lips had twisted into. It represented his arrogance to a T. “So. You think this will be easy, do you?” The leader of the group asked. “Oh well, well you know. Not too bad.” He swung the weighted end of his kusarigama in one hand while lightly holding the scythe end in his other. The young man threw his head back and chuckled. At last he looked toward them, one silver colored eye glinting in the moonlight. “Ready whenever you are, sirs.” The leader made not a sound, but instead raised their hand to signal the others to attack. They rushed past the leader and attacked with a mixture of knives, swords, and brass knuckles. He waited with his head down and his eyes closed until the sound of footsteps were just before him. Rapidly, he snapped his eyes open and spun around, throwing his weight from his hand and pegging one in the face causing them to go down in pain. In that same turn he slashed another across the stomach with his small scythe. The young man pulled his weight back to him. Another went down after the slash. He jumped up, placing his hand on one’s shoulders, leaping over them like a frog. “Woot!” Turning, he slashed them across the back. “Three down, three two go.” One went down to his knives that he threw. Another took the weight to the face like the other had. The last man standing was the leader of the group. “Excuse me, but I think your men are all out of commision.” “Tch.” The leader threw down smoke pellets he had pulled from his pocket and disappeared. The young man replaced his weapon on his back and coughed, fanning the smoke away from his face. “Great. They’re going to kill me for this.” He climbed like a monkey up the side of a building and ran across the rooftops skillfully. At last he made it to his destination which was a grated opening on a rooftop. He dove into the opening and rolled. “Hey everybody! I’m back!” It was dead of night, but most of the time the people he hung out with were awake.
